npower

Rebuilt virtually all of the npower.com website into a more modern look and feel.

The purpose of this project was to update the look and feel of the npower.com website and to improve the whole user experience for npower's online customers. This is the first major refresh of the npower.com website for a number of years and involved updating the styles and HTML markup for hundreds of pages of content, not an easy task with so many different types of pages to build for (information pages, product pages, landing pages etc), where one change here can break another.

Parts of the website went through usability testing to highlight where the website was failing and as a team we have done our best to get rid of these issues, only time will tell if the new changes have been a success or not.

There are parts of the new look and feel that I'm not comfortable with but this is a good example of not being able to please all of the people all of the time, I believe the users needs should come first but sometimes you cant just ignore business requirements.

Spanish Country Cottages

Built all the CSS and HTML for the website and integrated it with the .net behind the scenes.

Spanish Country Cottages designed by Ramon Delgado and built by me in Dreamweaver using XHTML and CSS. During this project i worked with the owner, designer and a .net programmer who created the database for Spanish Country Cottages. This involved wrapping my HTML code around his .net and styling both to fit the visuals.

I also used Photoshop for 'slicing' up the design created by Ramon.

Another project for Ramon Delgado who was happy with previous work I had done for him. I built the website using XHTML and CSS and used Jquery for the navigation, It was used to create the smooth drop down menu seen on some pages.

Great freelance project to work on as it allowed to work outside the confines of a CMS, no restrictions of XHTML and CSS or Javascript for example and it allowed me to experiment with some Jquery extensions.

The website was an interactive learning centre for children where parents could assign them educational tasks and reward there completion.

3 Sixty Displays

Built all the CSS and HTML for the website as well as a number of promotional marketing materials.

My first 'real' job after finishing Uni, I built a showcase for 3 Sixty Displays work and a way for prospective clients to find out more about the company and get in touch with them.

I coded using XHTML and CSS and built a Flash portfolio for them, after having been at npower for some time I rebuilt the site and the portfolio (now in Jquery), the change of portfolio was mainly due to the ease of which it could be updated in Jquery rather than Flash.
